About Us

As the only bowling club in the local area the committee recognise the importance of making available facilities that are of a high standard for the enjoyment of all members both young and old. The committee is very forward thinking and keen to embrace any new initiative that will enhance the experience of any person becoming a member.

Amongst the most recent developments has been the installation of a fully automated sprinkler system. This, linked to the outstanding attention to detail by the club's team of dedicated greenkeepers, has ensured the green provides a first class surface for bowling. 

The clubhouse has also been improved with a rebuild of part of the roof, new flooring and upgraded electrics. The clubhouse has a licence to sell alcoholic beverages, a kitchen and an area for meetings.

The main focus of the club is to build on the programme initiated in the 2020 season to work alongside local schools, youth clubs and scout groups to actively encourage participation by young people and their family members. To work alongside this initiative the club has teamed up with Shropshire Crown Green Bowling Association to facilitate the training of four club members who are now qualified to provide coaching on the training days that will be provided for young bowlers.

The sport of crown green bowling is a great way to exercise and make friends. Both are good reasons to pay our club a visit. We look forward to meeting you.
